Business Halacha

Both systems of law, one counsel. Partnership agreements, heter iska and commercial documents drawn to satisfy halacha and Florida law at once. Wills and estate plans that survive hilchos yerusha and probate alike. Disputes taken to Bais Din, and carried into court when an award needs enforcing. No gap between the two systems for anyone to fall through.

METHOD

How the firm approaches it

The weak point in most halachic business arrangements is the seam — a document a posek approved that a judge won’t enforce, or a Bais Din ruling the losing party simply ignores. The firm’s work lives at that seam. Agreements are drafted so the halachic structure and the legal structure are the same structure. Bais Din proceedings are set up from the first signature so the eventual award stands as a binding arbitration award under Florida law. And when a party walks away from a psak, the enforcement practice turns it into a judgment and the judgment into money.

Joshua R. Kon co-founded the T4 Business Halacha Initiative in 2022 and has led it since, with the North Miami Beach Kollel — working alongside rabbanim and dayanim in the United States, Israel and abroad. T4 teaches the subject without charge; the firm is where a matter becomes representation.
